The effects of solar radio bursts on frequency bands utilised by the aviation industry in Sub-Saharan Africa

Solar radio bursts have been associated with a number of disruptions in avionic systems. The objective this work is to develop solar burst interference thresholds which account for the technical specifications aviation-related instrumentation, instrument operating frequencies as well industry stipulated error tolerances. are suggested be potentially hazardous when exceeding these calculated thresholds. Particular attention paid altimeter, an important component aviation safety. VHF communication, GPS navigation receivers and altimeter are; 10 2 , 3 4 sfu respectively. (for above sfu) shown result large errors (64–251 m) altitude estimates Frequency Modulated Continuous Waves (FMCW) simulated work.
